Brooks Takes Early Lead
Posted by

"There's a lot of golf left!", Mark Brooks said after riding a hot team to a sizeable first round lead. Led by the young phenom Jordan Spieth, Brooks' team pulled out in front by 4 shots over veterans John Gorman and Graham Worsham by the time the last putt dropped on Thursday.
As the old saying goes, the tournament can't be won on Thursday, but it can be lost. Several challengers have a lot of room to make up quickly if they want to be in contention over the weekend.

Fite Looks to "Sweep the Leg" of Competition

| Fite extols the virtues of a properly sautéed crappie fillet on a recent visit to the Tonight Show. |
A long, hard Winter has given way to cherry blossoms and daffodils here in the Mid South, and organizers of the 2015 Masters Challenge have been busy making final preparations for this year's competition. In an interview with the defending champion, Zac Fite was reflective but focused, channeling his inner John Kreese.
Feel great coming into the first major of the year. I've been working hard during the offseason with my swing coach Brandon Rowland. Between he and my twin/caddie Matt Fite, they've got my head where it needs to be and I'm striking the ball really well. I welcomed my first born into the world during the offseason which has really helped balance me out.
Strategy wise, I plan on going low right out of the gate and applying pressure to the field. "Strike first, strike hard."While Fite intends to show no mercy, the rest of the field will have their chance to take the title when selections open Monday, April 6.
